The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5 is the latest in the TZ series and the successor to the highly successful DMC-TZ3 that was launched back in 2007. The Silver DMC-TZ5 now boasts 9.1 Megapixels as against the previous TZ3s 7.2 Megapixels. However, the hugely popular and flexible 28mm Wide-angle lens with 10 x optical zoom remains the main attraction of this best selling series of digital cameras.

With its 28mm wide angle lens and 10x optical zoom the Lumix DMC-TZ5 is ideal for travelling. The camera combines the equivalent 28mm – 280mm telephoto in a remarkable compact body that can be carried with you wherever you’re heading.

3 inch LCD Screen
The Compact DMC-TZ5 sports a large three inch LCD display with adjustable brightness and 460,000 pixels making it easy to compose your shots and comfortable for viewing and playing back your pictures. Intelligent Auto Technology
Switch the DMC-TZ5 to Intelligent Auto mode [iA] and four detection and optimising functions work seamlessly together to produce great photographs time after time whatever the location.

MEGA O.I.S.
Built-in gyro-sensors are used to detect the smallest camera movements like camera shake and then compensate the movements by shifting the lens in the opposite direction giving you sharp and clear images without any deterioration.

Intelligent ISO Control
This function detects whether a subject is moving and if it is it automatically changes the light sensitivity of the CCD by raising the ISO setting. This allows the camera to operate at a higher shutter speed which subsequently prevents any motion blur and at the same time keeps the quality and naturalness of the shot.

Face Detection
Panasonic’s Face Detection function detects faces anywhere in the frame and automatically chooses the best focus and exposure settings so that the faces of people in the pictures come out sharp and clear. The system can detect up to 15 faces, and can even track a face when the subject is moving.

Intelligent Scene Selector
When the DMC-TZ5 is set to Intelligent Auto mode, the Intelligent Scene Selector senses the ambient conditions and automatically selects one of the following appropriate modes; Macro, Night Portrait or Night Scenery, Scenery, Portrait. The DMC-TZ5 has 9.1m camera affective pixels on a 1/2.33 inch image sensor from a total pixel count of 10.7 mega pixels. The optical zoom is 10x with an additional digital zoom of 4x (Max. 40.0 x combined with Optical Zoom without Extra Optical Zoom ) (Max. 67.5x combined with Extra Optical Zoom).
